Mosses
Flat, spongy, and mixed mosses allow you to create calm surfaces or distinct, natural textures. We do not use reindeer moss for decorations.
Everlasting Flowers for architects and designers
Architect's zone: selection of moss and stabilized plants, panel parameters, and guidelines for interior decoration planning. We help combine visual impact with the actual use of the space.
01 · Selecting a solution
Flat, spongy, and mixed mosses allow you to create calm surfaces or distinct, natural textures. We do not use reindeer moss for decorations.
Moss and stabilized plant compositions with varying plant compositions. The arrangement, depth, and orientation of the plants are tailored to the specific interior.
3D bases allow for the modeling of relief and depth of the decoration. We determine the solution during consultation, taking into account the surroundings and available space.
02 · Project data
| Element | Indicative parameter | Design notes |
|---|---|---|
| Standard substrate | HDF 4 mm | Flexible board, easy to cut and make holes. |
| Weight of the complete panel | On average, about 2–3 kg/m² | Including primer and adhesive; the actual weight of a specific composition is confirmed when selecting the mounting. |
| Basic flat moss panel | About 2,5–3 cm | Thickness of the base panel. |
| Mixed mosses without additional spatial substrate | Up to about 6 cm | Natural surface variation. |
| Compositions with spatial bases | Most often up to about 20 cm | Greater depths determined individually. |
| Forest - the longest plants | Extension about 20–30 cm | It is possible to grow plants closer to the surface of the decoration if space requires it. |
Indicative parameters resulting from implementation practice Everlasting FlowersThey do not represent a maximum load or a single specification for all designs. Dimensions and mounting solutions are confirmed for a specific project.
03 · Substrate and assembly
We most often use 4 mm thick HDF. The board's flexibility allows it to easily adapt to minor wall irregularities. It can be easily cut to size and drilled for sockets, switches, and other installation components.
The panels are glued or screwed directly to the wall. Choosing the mounting method requires consideration of the type and condition of the substrate and the specific decoration.
Holes can be adjusted during installation. However, it's worth considering the installation in advance to plan the layout and access to accessories.
04 · Space Use
When children and pets are present, we place the most protruding and delicate elements of the arrangement out of their reach. We choose a layout that reflects the daily use of the room.
In places accessible to many people, we discuss the location of decorations and safeguards to limit touching and mechanical damage.
We arrange the plants so that the decoration remains attractive and does not obstruct the use of passageways, furniture, switches or other equipment.
05 · Interior Conditions
These decorations are made from natural mosses and stabilized plants. They do not require watering or an irrigation system. They should be protected from water, direct sunlight, and heat sources.
We discuss lighting placement and color in relation to materials and the interior. It's important to include windows, radiators, air vents, and planned fixtures in the design.
If the design specifies requirements for fire reaction, acoustics, or material documentation, submit them before selecting a solution. We confirm the scope of available documents for the specific material and system.
You should not assign a classification or parameters to a finished decoration based only on its appearance or type of plants.
Light · color · texture
Light is an integral part of the decorative design. Its color, quality, and direction influence the perception of greenery and depth in the composition. Stabilized plants do not require grow lights—we choose lighting for visual effect.
Directional fixtures or fixtures for even wall illumination should be placed before the decoration. The beams should cover the entire composition, without bright spots or dark spots at the bottom.
A good starting point for illuminating the entire surface. With Forest, we examine the shadows cast by protruding plants.
A floor or plinth fixture directs light upward. It can dramatically emphasize texture and spatiality; however, it requires experimentation as it changes the shadow pattern.
Shield the source from direct view. Plan for a fixture outside the walkway and protection from water when mopping the floor.
The LED behind the frame creates a glow on the wall. To illuminate the plants, the profile must direct light towards the front of the decoration. A light outline alone does not guarantee a bright center.
For larger panels, connect the outline to the ceiling light. Plan for a diffuser, heat dissipation, and power supply access.
Schematic diagrams, not to scale. The glow shows the light distribution concept, not the result of photometric calculations. The spacing, distance, and optics are selected according to the dimensions of the decoration and the specific luminaire.
The following observations are based on practice Everlasting Flowers with the mosses and plants used. The effect also depends on the species, color, specific lamp, and other light in the room.
In our projects, this range often highlights intense, fresh-looking greenery. It's the preferred starting point for decor lighting.
Green can look more subdued. We check whether the effect matches the materials and mood of the interior.
In observations Everlasting Flowers Some materials appear more olive or brownish, sometimes appearing dried out. We recommend testing before choosing.
This is a description of appearance under a given light, not evidence of drying or permanent discoloration. 4000K is not a universal limit for all plants and lamps. Kelvins describe the color of light, not the temperature at which the decoration heats up.
View the actual material under your chosen fixture, with the interior lighting on. Compare several colors and brightness levels. A phone photo, automatic white balance, and screen settings can alter color perception.
In a warmly lit interior, it's worth considering a separate, dimmable circuit for decoration. If you're choosing adjustable white, check the color rendering quality across the entire range used.
CCT describes the color of the source, and the spectrum affects the appearance of illuminated materials: US Department of Energy - LED Color CharacteristicsEven lighting and light that highlights texture require different settings and optics: ERCO - lighting for vertical surfacesThe preference for 5000–6500 K and the description of the moss appearance are derived from experience. 06 · Project consultation
Please prepare the following information for your initial conversation. If your project is in its early stages, describe what you already know—we'll discuss the remaining elements together.
Purpose of the interior, location of implementation, photos of the wall and its dimensions.
Drawing or visualization, preferred material, available depth, frame and lighting.
Planned date, scope of transport and assembly, and documentation requirements.
You can attach drawings, photos and visualizations to your email.
07 · Experience live content
The variety of species, textures, and compositions is best assessed on-site. During an appointment, we can select materials that best suit your project's objectives.
We do not ship samples as standard. Occasional availability of materials for shipment requires individual arrangements.
